is a Fijian word meaning 'calm and tranquil' ... like on a sunny day
when the sea is quiet and looks like blue glass. Imagine, you have found
the very individual tropical playground in a first class Boutique Resort,
on the 'Flower Island' Taveuni, Fiji.
 Maravu
is the perfect hideaway for you offering adventure and relaxation, culture
and the unique experience to live with the people who have been here
since ancient times. Their laughter and happiness will become part of
your life after you left and will make you want to return.
Paradise is waiting to comfort you may it be finest dining with Fiji's
best and biggest wine list, world class diving in the Somosomo Strait,
tropical beaches with huge rain trees and palm trees swaying in the
breeze, spectacular waterfalls, or the famous volcano lake.
Maravu's magic will capture you first when you enter the main building
with its open walls and thatched roof decorated with Fijian art like
carved bowls, masks, pottery, driftwood and painted tapa pictures.
A maximum of 30 guests will give your stay a very personal note. Lush
tropical gardens hide your private bure.
Indulge yourself listening to the birds singing and the beautiful Fijian
language, refresh your senses by smelling the fresh and totally clean
air, taste the pureness of food right from the sea and the organic gardens.

Sleep on a king-size bed covered by a
white mosquito net canopy. Comfortable bathrooms are standard, as is
the minibar. All Bure except the Planters Bures have air-conditioning.
In the Honeymoon Bures, Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and Oceanview Spa Villas,
there is an outdoor shower in a secluded setting next to the private
sun deck and a Jacuzzi.
Each bure is well-appointed, and beautifully decorated with Fijian artwork
and paintings. And, wherever you look, flowers are spread out in their
full bloom, liberally adorning your tropical home.
The bures are spaced apart on our 90 acre resort, so feel the privacy
around you as you relax in the hammock on the verandah. And, lest you
forget time, the gentle beat of the lali drum will remind you
when delicious meals are ready for you to enjoy.
Our two Planters Bures are in a Duplex Units. The rooms
are completely separate with own entrance, verandah, bathroom and just
one joining wall. The Duple unit has an interconnecting facility, which
is ideal for a family with children having their own room. The maximum
occupancy for each Bure is 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children. The
Planters Bures are air-conditioned and have Garden-view.
Three of our Bures are Deluxe Bures in Duplex Units.
Each Bure has a private outdoor shower and Jacuzzi. This Bure type has
both, an inside and an outside shower and in addition to the sun deck
a covered verandah. The outdoor furniture consists of Mahogany pool
beds, chairs and tables. The maximum occupancy for this Bure is 3 adults
or 2 adults with 2 children. The Deluxe Bures are air-conditioned and
have Garden-view.
Our seven Honeymoon Bures all have a large outdoor
river-rock courtyard, with an open-air shower and a Jacuzzi spa tub.
The spacious Bure has a sitting area, a bedroom, and also a full indoor
bathroom. The Honeymoon Bures feature fine furnishings such as palm
tree wood furniture and 4-poster king-size bed. The sun deck and covered
verandah also features comfortable furniture. Each Honeymoon Bure has
partial ocean view. The maximum occupancy for the Bure is 2 adults.
Our top Bures are the Honeymoon Deluxe Suites, Oceanview Spa
Villas and The Treehouse.
With a large sitting room and expansive bedroom, the four Honeymoon
Deluxe Suites are both elegant and relaxing. An open-air river
rock courtyard boasts an outdoor shower and a Jacuzzi spa waterfall
pool. The large living space and bedroom features very comfortable furniture,
along with a spacious indoor bathroom. A large open sundeck, as well
as a covered verandah, has very comfortable furniture. Three of the
Suites have partial ocean view, while the fourth has beautiful garden
views and is attached to a Deluxe Bure. The maximum occupancy for the
suites is 2 adults. Stays in the Honeymoon Deluxe Suite receive our
complimentary Honeymoon Package, which consists of a bottle of champagne,
a fruit basket, a private excursion to romantic Honeymoon Island, a
half-day trip to beautiful Bouma Waterfalls, and two Fijian sulus.
The rate for this category includes a Honeymoon Package:
a bottle of champagne, fruit basket, Sulus (Fijian skirts), poolside/garden
candlelight dinner, excursion to romantic Honeymoon Island and a half
day trip to tropical Tavoro Waterfalls in Bouma National Heritage Park.
Featuring the finest ocean views from Maravu, the four Oceanview
Spa Villas are expansive. With a large sitting room and a large
bedroom, the individual villas embody a casual elegance, with leather
and palm tree wood furniture, a fully stocked mini-bar, both an indoor
and outdoor bathroom, a covered verandah, and a large sundeck with ocean
views. The outdoor river rock courtyard boasts an open air shower and
a Jacuzzi spa waterfall pool. The villas are situated away from the
main area of the resort, and are connected via a tropical rainforest
walkway and bridge, allowing for a true feeling of privacy and seclusion.
The maximum occupancy for the villas is 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2
children. Stays in the Oceanview Spa Villa receive our complimentary
Spa Package, which consists of two Maravu Massages (25 minutes each),
two traditional Fijian scalp massages (15 minutes each), two Pure Fiji
Body Scrubs (15 minutes each), and two Maravu Bathrobes.
Maravu's newest, finest and largest Bure is also it's most unique. The
Treehouse is situated at treetop level, amongst an ancient
Rain Tree. Extensive decks and a covered verandah with very comfortable
furnishings offer premium views of both the ocean and surrounding lush
tropical rainforest. The large bedroom and expansive living room feature
elegant furnishings, including a king-size bed, leather and palm tree
wood furniture, a stocked mini-bar and more. The fully air-conditioned
Treehouse has two full indoor bathrooms, and the living area can be
converted into a second private bedroom, allowing for privacy for two
couples sharing, or a family. A large outdoor courtyard features an
open-air shower and a state-of-the-art Jacuzzi spa pool. The maximum
occupancy for The Treehouse is 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children
(minimum of 12 years of age). Stays in The Treehouse receive our complimentary
Treehouse Package that consists of two Maravu Massages (25 minutes each),
a fruit basket, two Fijian sulus (sarongs), a half-day trip to beautiful
Bouma Waterfalls, and a half-day tour of Taveuni's stunning west coast.
Villa, Suite & Bure Amenities
All of Maravu's accommodations feature a wonderful array of amenities
and inclusions. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans are included in all
room categories, along with a fully-stocked mini bar with bottled water,
beer, wine, champagne, soft drinks, chocolate bars and snacks. Bath
amenities boast hair dryers, bathrobes, and elegant and indulgent Pure
Fiji bath products, including hand-crafted coconut soaps, shampoo, conditioner
and lotion.
There are many complimentary activities to enjoy at Maravu. Go horseback
riding, have fun on our mountain bikes, explore the coastline in a kayak,
or be enthralled by snorkelling off the beach and seeing the beauty
of the underwater world. We also provide guided plantation walks, croquet,
and bocchi ball.
Several times a week you may witness a Fijian Kava ceremony
and entertainment with our houseband, and there is a weekly Meke
(Fijian songs and dances) and Lovo (Fijian underground oven
feast). And of course, you may relax in a hammock on your private verandah,
or by the pool, or stroll down to Maravu's beach for some sunbathing,
swimming or beachcombing.
